We are a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization with a profound love for children and a commitment to empowering and transforming communities through the Grace of God.
Founded by Pastor Godfrey Adacar and Sarah, Joyland Restoration Ministries aims to provide health and education support while empowering local communities. We address child abuse by strengthening local child protection structures and partnering with local churches and development partners who share our vision.
Our focus is on three core program areas: Education, Child Caring Ministry, and Health. These programs aim to improve the status of the community at the household level. Our mission is to share the Gospel with those in need, uplift orphans and vulnerable children, support youth and their parents in overcoming social, spiritual, economic, and political challenges, and contribute to reducing poverty, HIV/AIDS, non-communicable diseases, child abuse, and neglect.
Through our programs, beneficiaries have the opportunity to gain literacy skills, discipleship, counseling/guidance, and health and education for future self-reliance and development.

The Founders
Godfrey and Sarah Adacar
Godfrey Adacar, the founder and Executive Director of Joyland Restoration Ministries Was born and raised in a poor family to a young couple who knew nothing about God they separated due to nature of work which forced the mother to go and live with her parents in the village. Growing up, he suffered from severe malaria and other illnesses that almost ended his life as an infant. He also suffered child abuse, drug abuse, and Child labour, rejection from community, harsh treatment, and lack of father figure. This birthed hatred in him towards his father and men.
Regardless of his situation He met Jesus Christ who delivered him from all bitterness, hatred, rejection and transformed his life. He developed a relationship with God.
In 2017, he stepped in to care for orphans then shared with his wife who bought the vision and eventually began praying and fasting to God about it every Thursdays and the burden to serve grew stronger.
Godfrey and Sarah started supporting the first 10 orphans in Tubur-Soroti district in 2017. Each month the money saved could go for this cause. He went further and appointed four volunteers whose work was to deliver items, visit the children, encourage them and share the gospel with them. As time passed on, the number of the children kept increasing and God continued to provide.
As the calling grew stronger, Godfrey decided to leave his employment and stepped out by faith into the mission field in Soroti city in 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic. While in Soroti, he continued sustaining the ministry through their savings, friends and agriculture.
Since then it’s been an amazing journey to witness the hand of God in the lives of our children, Hope built, and lives transformed by the grace of God. His biggest drive is knowing that He is fulfilling God’s purpose in his life and everything he is doing is making a difference in the lives of these precious children.
Vision
Our vision is for every orphaned and abandoned child to be loved, known, protected, and cared for, and for every heart to be transformed by the grace of God, ensuring comprehensive well-being and spiritual renewal.
Mission
Our mission is to bring the love of Christ to orphans, the neediest, and vulnerable children by caring for the whole child, providing comprehensive support, and building intentional relationships with their families and communities to empower them all.

Joyland Children's Home: A Sanctuary of Hope and Growth
Joyland Children's Home
is more than just a place to live—it’s a sanctuary for orphans and abandoned children. Founded in 2021, our family has grown to include 5 wonderful children, all residing in our loving home in Soroti City, Western Division, Nakatunya Ward, Amen B Cell. Here, every child is nurtured with three daily meals, medical care, discipleship, and education.
Challenges and Future Plans:
We currently face challenges in transportation and mentorship as we send our children to various schools. Our ambitious plan for the future includes purchasing land to build a permanent home and school, creating a holistic educational environment not just for our children but for others in the community, regardless of their background.
Education and Skills Training:
At Joyland, we embrace education as the cornerstone of empowerment. Through formal schooling and vocational training in skills like baking, cooking, and farming, we equip our children for self-reliance. This approach not only supports individual growth but also helps alleviate poverty by enabling families to generate sustainable incomes.
Evangelism and Missions:
Grounded in our Christian faith, we extend God’s love through local and broader missions, aiming to transform lives across Soroti and beyond. Joyland Restoration Church plays a pivotal role in this, engaging in prayer, worship, and community projects that include prison outreach and church planting. Our dedication drives us to impact lives, renew hope, and foster community growth through engagement and evangelism.
